Has anybody besides me thought about setting up one of these pages as a forum instead of a guest book? It might take a bit more work to isolate threads in the discussion, or to set up subscriptions and to email appends to subscribers, but for a really basic forum, I think all you'd have to do is call it a forum rather than a guest book.

I love your webboard scripts, Matt. I have never been able to post anything to newsgroups which don't use them. Some problems: A. When I opened your guestbook page, it didn't have a scroll-button on the right hand side, so I couldn't read everyone's entries. B.There are no buttons maked SEND on this form, but I'll click these unmarked buttons and see what happens...
C. Not all the chat groups listed on that index are still connected/working/operational, and some sites have moved. D. Since I have struggles downloading anything from the Internet, I tried to click onto that download-via-email option, but every time it caused my Mosaic browser to shut down.
I would like to start a food science/technology webboard, unless there is already one available (unfortunately so many people decide to give them obscure names not immediately recognisable according to subject content! If anyone knows of such a site using Matt's scripts, please email me the URL.

Hi there Matt,

My name is Paul and I am trying to get a search engine to work on my Web site, which is an Advertising Agency. I heard about how efficient your Simple Search is. However, as a Graphic Designer I have some concern regarding the look of my Web site. Thus, I would like to ask you that if I use Simple Search can I just display the form with "Keyword Search, " without having to display "Boolean" and "Case: sensitive or insensitive" because, with the "Boolean" and "Case: sensitive or insensitive" displaying on a site, it is very : intimidating, unfriendly, technical, confusing. misleading -- considering that my potential customers are computer illiterate. For these reasons I do not want them to feel left out of the high-tech community. I would like to have search engine that is as easy and friendly to use as YAHOO'S, LYCO'S, MAGELLAN'S, INFOSEEK'S, New Center 4, etc.
PLease answer me with either a "Yes" or "No" answer as to whether or not I can have just the "Search" button, without having to display "Boolean" and the choice of "Case". I do not need any other explanation because I can go get a search engine somewhere else.
Please understand that I would give full credit to you if I decide, after careful consideration, to use your Simple Search program. Again, please understand that the only factor that concerns me is the look of my Web site. As far as the search form is concerned, I want it to be as easy, friendly, understandable and convinient as possible. With the "Boolean" and "Case" displaying on my site, I have a strong belief that they would drive people away from my site.
